One league. Every week is a fresh Mexicano.

Players drop in week-by-week. Variable rung count per session. One cumulative leaderboard ranks everyone by wins, then win%, then point differential, then head-to-head.

The drop-in format that still has a season race.

Most drop-in nights end when the last match does — there's no season story. Most leagues require a season commitment players can't make. Drop-In Rung Ladder is the third path: low-commitment registration, high-commitment leaderboard.

Register per week

Players sign up only for weeks they can play. No season pass, no commitment, no fixed partners — show up when you're free.

Variable rung count

32 registered this week → 8 rungs of 4. 40 next week → 10 rungs. The system auto-suggests the count from your settings; the organizer can override.

One cumulative leaderboard

Every match across every week feeds one season leaderboard. Tiebreakers chain Wins → Win% → Point Differential → Head-to-Head.

How a week runs.

1

Registration opens

Players register for the week from the mobile app or web. Payment processes through your Stripe Connect account.

2

Auto-seeding

Picklebeast suggests rungs from rolling standings, DUPR, or your Club Rating. Organizer reviews and adjusts.

3

Mexicano rounds

Each rung plays its rounds with rotating partners. Scores submit from the score pad; the leaderboard updates live.

4

Cumulative ranking

Wins, win%, and point differential carry forward across every future week. The leaderboard never resets until the season ends.

The cumulative leaderboard.

Players want to know "where do I stand?" — not just for tonight, but for the season. One leaderboard, every match counted.

How it compares.

Season-long rung ladder

  • Fixed roster — same players, same partners
  • Promotion/relegation runs the whole season
  • Hard to join mid-season
  • Players who can't commit can't play

Drop-In Rung Ladder

  • Roster floats — different player set each week
  • Each week's rungs are independent
  • Sign up anytime, only for weeks you can play
  • One season leaderboard still tracks who's on top
