How Assignment Works
The assignment algorithm runs approximately one hour before each reservation. It optimizes for:
Contiguous blocks — consecutive slots get the same court when possible
Gap minimization — courts are packed tightly to avoid idle windows
Group priority — linked reservations (friend groups) always land on the same court
Direct booking awareness — courts already reserved directly are excluded from assignment
If all pool courts are taken at assignment time, the member is notified immediately and offered the choice to reschedule to another available slot or cancel for a full refund.
